I'm Jon Eckhoff — a combat wounded veteran, Purple Heart recipient, real estate professional, wellness advocate, and community builder based in the Greater Des Moines area.
My life has been shaped by service. I spent years in the military, giving everything I had in defense of this country. That service came with a cost — and with it, a perspective on life that most people don't get until much later: every single day is an opportunity to build something meaningful.
Summer 2025, We made a major life change and relocated from the Denver area to Greater Des Moines. New state, new community, new mission. And I have not looked back.
Iowa welcomed me with open arms. I found a growing real estate market, a strong veteran presence, and a community that reminded me why I served in the first place.
In January of this year, I became a licensed realtor in Iowa. I also completed my first real estate investment flip. Real estate is not just a career for me — it is a way to help families build wealth, stability, and roots in a community I believe in.
My specialty is working with veterans and active-duty military. I know the VA loan process, I know what you've sacrificed, and I know how to make sure you use every benefit you've earned.
One of the first things I noticed when I arrived in Des Moines was an opportunity — a chance to bring veterans together in a way that did not yet exist here. I am a proud member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 1979, the VFW, and the American Legion Post 717, and I know firsthand the power of veteran community.
That's why I created the Greater Des Moines Veterans Community — a local group where veterans and military families can connect, share information on benefits and discounts, and support each other the way only veterans can.
As a combat wounded veteran, I know what it is like to run on empty and push through physical challenges. Getting serious about my health changed everything. That's why I became an affiliate for MAKE Wellness — because I believe in the products and I believe every person deserves to feel their best.
I'm also building a team of people who share that belief and want to build something of their own in the wellness space.
I am 55 years old and turning 56 on July 4th, 2026 — yes, my birthday is Independence Day. I think that says something about who I am. I believe in freedom, hard work, and the idea that it is never too late to start something great.
If you're a veteran, a homebuyer, someone looking to improve their health, or just a fellow Des Moines resident looking to connect — I'd love to meet you.
